The essentials in three lines

  • Al Massira airport is around 24 to 28 km from central Agadir: allow 25 to 40 minutes by taxi or car, and around 50 minutes by bus.
  • The white grand taxi takes up to six passengers and the fare is agreed before you get in; Alsa's Aerobus (line L-AE) leaves roughly every hour, but not between 1 am and 5 am.
  • At Carsalis, the car is delivered free of charge to Agadir airport: give your flight number and exact arrival time in the booking request.

Your plane lands at Al Massira in the late afternoon, during the school holidays: you have two suitcases, tired children, and your hotel is on Agadir bay. Or you land at half past midnight and wonder whether there will still be a bus. To get into town, you have four options: the grand taxi, Alsa's Aerobus, a transfer arranged by your hotel and a hire car delivered on arrival. The right choice depends mainly on two things: what time you land and how many people are travelling with you.

The airport is outside the city: about half an hour by road

Al Massira airport lies south-east of Agadir, beyond Inezgane: allow around 24 to 28 km to the centre depending on the route, or 25 to 40 minutes by road without traffic ; the route is described in our article Returning your hire car at Agadir Al Massira airport. The real question is the time: during the day, every option works; late in the evening, on Saturday evenings and at night, the choice narrows.

The grand taxi: straight to your hotel, up to six passengers

Outside the airport, the ride into Agadir is by white grand taxi. The small red or orange taxis you will see later in Agadir are for journeys within the city and take three passengers at most.

A grand taxi carries at most six passengers in addition to the driver : that is the capacity set for these vehicles in Morocco. It is the direct option for a couple, a family of four or a small group: it drops you outside your hotel. Six people is the maximum, not a comfortable fit: with luggage, the boot fills up quickly. Beyond six, you need two taxis or a minibus transfer booked in advance.

The point that matters: the fare is agreed before you get in. The official Agadir Souss-Massa tourism website points this out for any grand taxi journey, whatever it is. Give the exact name of your hotel, ask whether the price is for the vehicle or per person, and agree on it before loading the luggage.

Alsa's Aerobus: line L-AE to the Vallée des Oiseaux

Alsa, which runs Agadir's city buses, operates a direct line between the airport and the city: the L-AE, known as the Aerobus. It links the airport with the Vallée des Oiseaux interchange, next to Bank Al-Maghrib, in about 50 minutes, stopping at Inezgane, the entrance to Founty and several seafront hotels. The map published by Alsa shows 12 stops. Tickets are bought on board or at Alsa's sales office in the airport, and a return ticket valid for 15 days is also available.

On the timetable published by Alsa and checked on 4 October 2026, departures from the airport run roughly every hour from 7 am to 11 pm Monday to Friday and on Sunday, with extra departures at midnight, 1 am and 5 am. On Saturday, the last evening departure from the airport is at 8 pm, and the timetable shows no bus between 1 am and 5 am, whatever the day. These times may change: check the timetable on Alsa's website before you travel, and allow time to collect your luggage.

The bus suits you if you are travelling light, by day, with a hotel on the line or near the centre. With young children, large suitcases or accommodation off the route, in Taghazout for example, a taxi or a car saves you time.

The hotel transfer: useful for late arrivals

If your hotel or tour operator offers a transfer, it is a simple option for a late flight: the meeting is arranged in advance, and there is nothing to negotiate on the spot. Before you leave, ask three questions: is it included in your stay or charged, does the driver track the flight if it is delayed, and where is the meeting point. For more than six people, ask for a vehicle suited to the number of passengers and suitcases.

The car delivered on arrival: when it is worth having from the airport

At Carsalis, delivery to Agadir airport is free, as it is to your hotel or the city centre. In your booking request, give your flight number, your exact arrival time and your return flight, then send your passport and driving licence via WhatsApp. The main driver must be at least 21 and have held a licence for 2 years. Once the booking is confirmed, everything is ready when you arrive. The full process, from leaving the plane to getting the keys, is in our article Car hire at Agadir Al Massira airport: the full arrival process.

Having the car from the airport makes sense if you are planning trips in the first few days, if your accommodation is far from the centre or if you are travelling as a family. We hire out city cars, saloons, family cars and 4×4s: tell us the number of passengers and suitcases, and whether you need a baby seat (€10 for the whole rental). If you are spending the first few days at the beach, we can also deliver it later to your hotel, free of charge in Agadir. Mileage is unlimited and assistance is available 24/7.

For a flight landing late in the evening or after midnight, mention it in the request: our article Night flight into Agadir explains how the handover works. On the way back, plan to return the car 2 hours before take-off.
