Short answer: with car hire at Agadir Al Massira airport arranged through Carsalis, there is no counter to go through and no queue to stand in. The vehicle is brought to the airport, the handover takes place as you come out of arrivals, delivery is free, and there is no deposit, no advance payment, no security deposit. That leaves the exact process to understand: what you need to send before you travel, how the meeting works on the spot, what happens if your flight lands at 1 a.m., and what is or is not included in the price. That is what this article is about.

Where the vehicle handover takes place at Al Massira airport

The principle is simple: you do not go and fetch the car, the car comes to you. A member of the team goes to the airport according to your landing time and meets you at the exit of the arrivals hall, once you have collected your luggage and cleared the formalities. The exact meeting point is confirmed to you by message the day before or on the day itself, along with the name and number of the person meeting you.

On the spot, the handover is quick. It involves three things: checking the documents (licence and ID), walking round the vehicle to note its condition and fuel level, and signing the contract. You drive off with the keys, the vehicle's papers and the assistance number, available 24/7.

This format avoids the main friction point of arriving in Agadir: the queue at the counter after a night flight, then the shuttle to an out-of-the-way car park. Here, you walk to the car and drive away.

What to send before you arrive

How quickly the handover goes depends entirely on what you send us beforehand. The more complete your paperwork is before you take off, the shorter your exit from the airport.

Your flight details

Send the flight number, the date and scheduled landing time, as well as the city you are flying from. The flight number is the most important: it allows any delays to be tracked without having to call you, and the time we need to be at the airport to be adjusted.

The driver's documents

A legible photo of the driving licence and the ID card or passport of the main driver. Two conditions to check before booking: the driver must be at least 21 and hold a licence valid for at least 2 years. If a second driver is to be added to the contract, say so when you make your request, together with their documents: this is subject to an extra charge and must appear on the contract to be valid.

What you actually need from the vehicle

Tell us the number of passengers, the number of suitcases and the type of journeys planned. A city car is enough for Agadir and the coast, a family car becomes useful from five people with luggage, and a 4×4 makes sense if your route climbs towards the Anti-Atlas or Paradise Valley. The models available and the categories are detailed on the page Carsalis vehicles. You can also send all of these details in one go via the booking request form.

Timings, late flights and delays: how it works

Agadir receives a lot of flights in the evening and in the middle of the night, particularly from Europe. That is exactly when a conventional rental becomes a chore: closed counters, waiting around, or a vehicle left in a car park with the keys in a box.

The approach used here is different: the handover adapts to the actual flight time, including late at night or in the early hours. In practice, as soon as you give us your flight number, your arrival is tracked. If the plane is two hours late, nobody is waiting for you at the wrong moment and you have nothing to rearrange. If you land earlier than expected, a message is all it takes.

One practical tip: turn on your data on landing or connect to the airport wifi before you come out, so you can exchange the final message about where to meet. It is the only thing that is genuinely essential on your side.

Free delivery: what exactly it covers

Delivery is free everywhere in Agadir. This includes Al Massira airport, but also your hotel, the city centre or a private address. No handover fee, no airport surcharge, no out-of-hours premium: the price quoted for the vehicle is the price you pay.

Outside Agadir, delivery is charged at 60 € per trip to Marrakech, Essaouira, the Souss region and Taroudant. Worth remembering for your budget: the outward and return legs count as two journeys. A pick-up in Agadir with a drop-off in Marrakech therefore counts as a single chargeable journey, whereas a return trip from Marrakech counts as two.

This flexibility is useful in a common situation: you land at Al Massira, you spend two days exploring Agadir on foot, and you only want the car from the third day onwards. Simply ask for delivery to your hotel on that day, still free of charge.

Rates, payment and terms to know before you sign

Our rates are deliberately easy to read. City cars such as the Dacia Sandero or Hyundai i10 are priced at €25 per day, and 20 € per day from 7 days. Saloons, the Dacia Logan or Skoda Rapid, are priced at €30 per day, and 25 € from 7 days. Family vehicles (Dokker, Lodgy, Kangoo) start at 40 € per day and the 4×4s (Duster, Pajero, Touareg, Range Rover) at 55 € per day, on request and subject to availability.

Every rental includes unlimited mileage, third-party liability insurance and 24/7 assistance. You should also know what is not included, and it deserves to be said plainly: damage caused to the vehicle is not covered. If you are responsible for damage, the repair remains at your expense. Fuel is also at your expense, with the vehicle returned at the same level as at pick-up. Any fines are borne by the renter, a 100 MAD cleaning charge applies if the vehicle is returned very dirty, off-road driving is prohibited unless the vehicle is suited to it, and smoking on board is not allowed. All of this is set out in the hire conditions.

As for payment, there is no online payment. The preferred method is a secure bank transfer, including from Europe. Payment in cash or by card on arrival is still possible subject to conditions, card payment incurring 5 % in bank fees. The details are explained on the page accepted payment methods.

Departure day: returning the car to the airport

The return works in the same spirit. You agree on a meeting time at the airport, you hand the vehicle back with the same fuel level as at pick-up, and its condition is checked together. Plan to arrive 2 hours before your flight : that leaves time to walk around the vehicle without rushing, then check your luggage in calmly. Remember to fill up on the way to the airport rather than at the last minute.
