Hiring a car in Agadir with no deposit means one very specific thing: no amount is blocked on your bank card, no security deposit is required and no advance payment is taken before you arrive. You collect the vehicle, you drive it, you bring it back. That is the standard way of working at Carsalis, an agency based at 4 Bis rue Moulay Driss in Agadir since 2008. What remains is to understand what this arrangement really changes for you, and what it does not save you from needing to know.
Hiring a car in Agadir with no deposit: what it changes in practice
With a conventional hire, an amount is frozen on your card for the whole length of your stay, and sometimes for several weeks after the vehicle is returned. It is this hold that causes the problem: it eats into the budget available on the spot, it depends on your card limit, and its release is entirely outside your control.
That mechanism does not exist here. No deposit, no advance payment, no security deposit. In practice, this means:
- your card limit stays entirely available for your spending during the stay;
- you pay nothing up front before you have seen the vehicle;
- you are not waiting for any refund after you leave Morocco;
- no card imprint is kept as a guarantee.
For a family holiday or a trip lasting several weeks, the difference in available cash is far from trivial. The question that follows is a fair one: if nothing is blocked, what governs the hire? The answer comes down to two things — a condition check carried out together at the start and on return, and a contract that states clearly who covers what.
What remains at your expense: the trade-off to know about
Hire with no deposit rests on a relationship of trust, not on unlimited cover. Better to say so before booking than at the moment of handing back the keys.
Damage to the vehicle
Third-party liability insurance is included in the price: it concerns damage caused to other people. On the other hand, damage to the hired vehicle itself is not covered. If you are responsible for damage — a wheel rim scraped against a kerb, a wing mirror torn off in a narrow lane, bodywork dented in a car park — the repair is at your expense. The absence of a deposit therefore does not mean the absence of responsibility. The principle is simply reversed: nothing is blocked in advance, and the only thing discussed is what actually happened, if anything happened at all.
Fuel and additional costs
Fuel is at your expense and the vehicle is returned with the same level as the one recorded at the start. Any fines received during the hire period remain the hirer's responsibility. A cleaning charge of 100 MAD applies if the car is returned very dirty. None of this is hidden: it is all set out in black and white in the hire conditions, worth reading through once before booking.
What the price includes
No deposit does not mean a stripped-down service. Every hire includes:
- unlimited mileage, with no daily cap and no per-kilometre charge;
- third-party liability insurance;
- 24/7 assistance;
- free delivery anywhere in Agadir: Al Massira airport, hotel, city centre or your address.
On price, a city car (Dacia Sandero, Hyundai i10) is 25 € per day, and 20 € per day from seven days of hire. A saloon (Dacia Logan, Skoda Rapid) is 30 € per day, 25 € from seven days. Family cars (Dacia Dokker, Lodgy, Renault Kangoo) start at 40 € per day and 4×4s (Dacia Duster, Mitsubishi Pajero, VW Touareg, Range Rover) at 55 € per day, on request. The details of the available models can be found under vehicles.
For delivery outside Agadir — Marrakech, Essaouira, the Souss region, Taroudant — a flat fee of 60 € per journey is added. The outward and return trips count as two journeys: better to build that into the budget from the start than to discover it at the end of your stay.
How the handover works
On delivery
You give the place and the time: the arrivals hall at Al Massira airport, your hotel reception, or an address in town. An agent is waiting there with the car, with no counter to go through and no queue. The walk-around is done together, on the spot: fuel level, condition of the bodywork, tyres, equipment. Whatever is noted is written down before you set off, and it is precisely this shared record that takes the place of a deposit. Licence and identity document are checked, the contract is signed, you leave with the keys. The whole thing takes a few minutes.
A useful tip: take a few photos of the vehicle yourself at handover, from several angles. It costs nothing and removes any ambiguity on return, for you as much as for the agency.
On return
The same principle in the other direction. You set the place and time for the return, and the vehicle is collected wherever you are, airport included. A fresh walk-around of the car is carried out with you, fuel included. If there is nothing to report, the file is closed there and then: no amount to release, no refund delay to watch out for on your bank statement in the following weeks. If you are flying out, plan the return for around two hours before take-off, so there is time to go round the vehicle without rushing.
The conditions to check before booking
A few simple rules govern the hire. The driver must be at least 21 years old and hold a licence that has been valid for at least two years. A second driver can be declared, for a supplement. Smoking is not allowed in the vehicles. Off-road driving is not authorised, except with the models intended for that use — a point to keep in mind if you are considering the tracks of the hinterland or the area around Taroudant.
As for payment, there is no online payment. Secure bank transfer is preferred, and European transfers are accepted. Payment in cash or by card on arrival remains possible subject to conditions, bearing in mind that card payment involves 5 % in bank charges. The terms are set out in detail on the accepted payment methods.
This way of working, applied since 2008, today earns the agency a Google rating of 4.9/5 from more than 200 reviews. It is the most telling indicator for a hire model that rests, by design, on trust on both sides.
Send your enquiry
The simplest option is still a message: give your dates, the type of vehicle you want and the delivery location, and you receive the exact price and availability in return. WhatsApp on +212 648 291 116, email to info@carsalis.com, or directly via the booking request form. No payment is required to hold a date.
