The essentials in three lines

  • Day 1 in town: souk El Had, the kasbah of Agadir Oufella, lunch at the fishing port, the marina, the Mémoire d'Agadir museum, then the seafront promenade at sunset.
  • Day 2: Paradise Valley and Taghazout. Day 3: Taroudant, about 80 km away. Each day, you are back in Agadir before dark.
  • The souk El Had and the Mémoire d'Agadir museum are closed on Mondays: on that day, start with day 2 or day 3.

You have three days in Agadir and a hire car. You want to see the city and get out a little, without spending your days looking for somewhere to park. Here is the itinerary we suggest to customers who ask us on WhatsApp, with a place to leave the car at each stop. Distances calculated in October 2026 with OSRM, excluding traffic jams.

Day 1, morning: the souk El Had, then the kasbah of Agadir Oufella

Start at around 9.30 am with the souk El Had, closed on Mondays, about 3 km from Al Amal square. Guide Agadir recommends going on a weekday morning, and avoiding late afternoon and weekends. Its official website mentions 13 hectares and some 3,000 shops. Several supervised, paying car parks surround it: note the number of the gate, or bab, you go in by.

At around 11.15 am, head up to Agadir Oufella: about 8 km, a quarter of an hour. The kasbah's official website mentions a car park halfway up: the last part of the climb is on foot, by shuttle bus or by taxi. The kasbah is open every day from 10 am to 7 pm, until 8 pm in summer and 4.30 pm during Ramadan, with last entry 30 minutes before closing. There is an entrance fee. Allow an hour and a half including the climb.

Day 1, afternoon: fishing port, marina, museum and seafront promenade

Come back down for lunch at the fishing port. According to the Routard guide, some sixty small restaurants inside the port serve simply grilled fish. OpenStreetMap shows a paying car park between the port entrance and the marina: leave the car there for both stops, as the port is next to the marina, according to the regional tourist office. Then walk round the marina, as far as its big wheel.

At around 3.30 pm, head for the Olhão Garden, 3 km away: it houses the Mémoire d'Agadir museum, devoted to the history of the city and the 1960 earthquake. According to the Immersi Travel guide, updated in October 2026, it opens from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with seasonal variations, and is closed on Mondays. No dedicated car park: street parking on avenue Hassan II or nearby, often full. Allow 45 minutes to an hour.

Finish on the corniche, the promenade that runs along the beach to the marina: the regional tourist office recommends it at the end of the day. OpenStreetMap lists a car park on Bijawane square, less than 200 m from the beach. Arrive half an hour before sunset.

Day 2: Paradise Valley in the morning, Taghazout in the afternoon

Set off at around 8.30 am. Paradise Valley is about 37 km away, 45 minutes: the N1 national road to Aourir, then a provincial road. According to OpenStreetMap, this road is tarmacked as far as the valley car park; the regional tourist office then allows 30 minutes' walk to the pools. Access and precautions are explained in detail in Agadir – Paradise Valley by car. If heavy rain is forecast, postpone the trip.

At around 1 pm, drive on to Taghazout on the N1: about 34 km, 40 minutes, for lunch and the beach. OpenStreetMap shows several paying car parks in the village centre, along the N1; the details are in Agadir – Taghazout by car.

Leave Taghazout an hour before sunset. The return trip is 23 km, about twenty minutes without traffic. In summer, allow much longer: in August 2025, Le360 reported more than 30,000 vehicles a day on this road, and more than two hours at peak times.

Day 3: Taroudant, there and back in a day

Taroudant is about 81 km away: allow 1 hr 20 to 1 hr 30. Set off at around 9 am. The visit itself is described in Agadir – Taroudant by car ; here, we only talk about the car. OpenStreetMap lists attended, paying car parks in the town, including one said to be open day and night. Park once, then explore on foot or by horse-drawn carriage, which the regional tourist office offers around the ramparts.

Head back at around 3.30 pm: you will be in Agadir by about 5 pm, before dark, even in December. Over the three days, the itinerary comes to about 280 km.
