To work out which car to hire in Agadir, three things are enough: the number of people, the amount of luggage and the roads you intend to take. Two travellers staying in the city and along the coast only need a city car at 25 €/day. A family of five with suitcases moves up to a people carrier. A route towards the Anti-Atlas or the valleys of the interior justifies a 4×4. Everything else comes down to personal comfort. Which car to hire in Agadir: the three questions to ask yourself

Before comparing the models, ask yourself these three questions in order. They are enough to decide in the majority of cases.

• How many people are travelling? Up to four adults, a city car or a saloon is enough. From five people upwards, you need a people carrier.
• How much luggage? Allow one large suitcase per person. Two cabin cases fit in a city car boot, four large suitcases do not.
• Which roads? Agadir, Taghazout, Essaouira, Marrakech, Taroudant: tarmac roads, no specific vehicle needed. Mountain tracks and remote valleys: ground clearance and sturdiness become useful.

A fourth question matters for the budget: the duration. From 7 days, the daily rate drops on city cars (25 € → 20 €) and on saloons (30 € → 25 €), which often changes the calculation between two categories.

The city car: the default choice for Agadir and its coast

The Dacia Sandero and the Hyundai i10 cover the vast majority of stays. They are at 25 €/day, and 20 €/day from 7 days of hire. Over a full week, the city car therefore remains the most economical option in our range.

It is the right vehicle if there are two or three of you, with reasonable luggage, and your plans revolve around Agadir: the marina, the beach, Taghazout, Paradise Valley, Tiznit or a day in Essaouira. Parking in the city centre is easier, fuel consumption is low, and the Sandero copes very well with Moroccan roads.

When the city car is no longer enough

Four adults with four large suitcases is too tight. If you are planning several long motorway stretches a day, comfort also makes itself felt after five hours on the road. In both of these cases, move up a category.

The saloon: more boot space and more comfort on the road

The Dacia Logan and the Skoda Rapid are offered at 30 €/day, and 25 €/day from 7 days. For 5 € more per day, you gain a noticeably larger boot and steadier handling on long journeys.

The people carrier: from five people upwards or with bulky luggage

Dacia Dokker, Dacia Lodgy and Renault Kangoo start from 40 €/day, on request depending on the season and availability. These are the vehicles to ask for as soon as there are five or more of you, or if you are travelling with a pushchair, child seats, surfboards or bulky equipment.

The Lodgy takes a seven-seat configuration depending on the model available: state the exact number of passengers and children when you send your request, as this avoids unpleasant surprises on the day of collection. As surfing and kitesurfing are very popular on the Agadir coast, mention your equipment too: the length of the boards determines the choice of vehicle.

The 4×4: mountains, the interior and demanding roads

Dacia Duster, Mitsubishi Pajero, Volkswagen Touareg and Range Rover are available from 55 €/day, on request. The Duster is the most common compromise: high enough for damaged mountain roads, without the fuel budget of a large 4×4.

One important point to know before booking: off-road driving is prohibited, except with suitable vehicles. A 4×4 gives you comfort and ground clearance on the roads of the Anti-Atlas, Tafraout or the Souss valleys, but it does not automatically allow you to leave the driveable roads. If your route involves genuine off-road driving, say so clearly from the moment you send your request, so that a suitable vehicle can be offered to you.

What is included in the price, and what remains at your expense

Whichever category you choose, the hire includes unlimited mileage, l’third-party liability insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance. There is no deposit, no down payment and no security deposit : nothing is blocked on your card, which makes organising the trip much simpler.

Conversely, two points must be stated clearly. Damage caused to the vehicle is not covered : if you are at fault, the repair is at your expense. And fuel is at your expense, the vehicle having to be returned with the same level as at the start. Delivery, conditions and practical arrangements

The delivery is free everywhere in Agadir : Al Massira airport, hotel, city centre or home address. For Marrakech, Essaouira, the Souss region and Taroudant, allow 60 € per trip, bearing in mind that an outward journey and a return journey count as two trips. It is something to factor into the budget if you plan to collect or return the vehicle in another city.

As for the conditions: driver aged 21 or over, licence held for at least 2 years, additional driver possible for a supplement, no smoking in the vehicle. If you are leaving by plane, plan to return the car about 2 hours before your flight.
